From a young age, I was surrounded by children and thoroughly enjoyed spending time teaching and caring for them. I knew I wanted to become a teacher because I could continue finding joy in being a role model and educator to the children in my life.
As I got older, I was able to spend time with children and students with special needs in particular. I experienced an abundance of joy in the friendships I was able to make with my peers. I knew that being a special educator was the right path for me after forming relationships that would last a lifetime.
